Ingredients
- 1-1/2 pounds ground turkey
- 3/4 cup onion, diced
- 3/4 cup celery, diced
- 3/4 cup carrots, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- small jar pimientos
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 2 teaspoons yellow mustard
- 4 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
Directions
- Sauté onion, celery and carrots in olive oil until softened. Add garlic and cook 45 seconds.
- Add ground turkey and cook until browned and crumbly, stirring often. Stir pimientos into turkey and add ketchup, mustard, tomato paste and brown sugar. Combine and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, until sauce has thickened.
- To serve, spoon onto bun.
