Left to right: Bam, Kraut and Aretha Franklin Dogs
Last night, Dennis, Kylie and I went to the San Diego Fair for the X-Ambassadors concert. It was so good! We decided to have dinner at the fair before the concert. I am not one to eat all the crazy, high fat, deep fried, high calorie goodies the fair has to offer. We decided to have a hot dog from Pink’s hot dog stand. What a good choice! I was able to get a turkey hot dog and the one I chose was called the Kraut dog. It was a simple hot dog with mustard, onions and sauerkraut. Kylie had the Aretha Franklin, which was a beef hot dog with chili, onions and mustard. Dennis went for the Bam. He also chose to have a turkey dog as well. One the Bam was bacon, cheese, coleslaw and jalapenos. They were all terrific! Pink’s has many locations and if there is one near you, I highly recommend trying them.
We decided to get a side of homemade potato chips to go with our “dogs”. Another good choice. We got the parmessan/garlic chips and also some plain chips and below is a picture of the plain chips. I may try to make some homemade chips in the near future and blog about how I did it. Stay tuned ….
After the concert, we (Dennis and Kylie) wanted a little treat. They decided to go with a donut from Texas Donuts. They agreed on the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup donut, yum! I chose to have a cup of decaf coffee. Boring, I know. I did give their donut a try and I’m glad I did. It was really good!
Until next time, Kris
