Game Night, Pizza Party Fun

pp17

Saturday night, we had our friends over for homemade pizza and game night. We had a blast! They brought the game and dessert … Scattergories and a fabulous mango tart. I don’t know if you’ve ever played Scattergories before, but if you haven’t, I highly recommend it. It’s so much fun. If you haven’t had a mango tart before, I also highly recommend that. It is one of the best desserts I’ve ever had.

Marcina and Neil are the parents of Kylie’s best friend, Kendra. They are such a nice family! We really enjoy spending time with the Checketts. I’m so happy that we finally had a chance to get together for game night. We’ve been talking about it for quite a while.

I had so much fun on Saturday prepping my toppings for our pizzas. I started with browning a couple Italian sausage links. While those were cooking, I had bacon cooking in the oven for a couple different pizzas. I sliced a russet potato nice and thin on my mandolin for a potato, rosemary, and bacon pizza … I think that one was the favorite! I cooked the potato earlier in the day as well as the bacon and sausages (Italian and chicken apple). I also sautéd a white onion to use on two different pizzas. One was a meat lovers pizza (Italian sausage, pepperoni, bacon and onion), the other was smoked chardonnay apple chicken sausage and onion pizza – yum! I also made a plain cheese pizza to add to the mix.

I always cook my pizza crust for about 10 minutes before adding the toppings and placing it back in the oven to finish. I get my pizza dough at Trader Joe’s.

We did have a lot of pizza left over, but I wanted everyone to have options – options and leftovers. I made enough pizza with the intention of being able to send some home with the Checketts to enjoy on Sunday and also enough for Dennis and Kylie to enjoy on Sunday as well.

(Smoked chardonnay apple chicken sausage and sautéd onion pizza – before cooking and after)

(Italian sausage, pepperoni, bacon and sautéd onion pizza – before cooking and after)

(Potato, Rosemary and Bacon Pizza – potatoes baking in the oven earlier in the day and completed pizza, the favorite)

We’re really looking forward to our next game night. I think I may make a taco bar, yum!

If anyone is interested in the recipes for any of the pizzas, please leave me a comment and I will blog the recipe.

Enjoy!

Until next time, Kris
